The Urbane Lion and I are trying to get handle on why we cannot for the life of us accomplish all we want to accomplish. This ranges from the daily mundane chores to the grandiose renovation plans. It all seems simple enough, but yet another day, or week, goes by and we haven't completed the task list.
Daily mundane chores: maintain the flower beds; prepare and eat dinner; put food away; wash dishes; make next day's lunches; clean the kitty litter; feed the cats; check emails; work on Urban Panther writings, postings, commenting; pay bills if required; and on Tuesdays soccer practice and on Thursdays soccer game for the Ten Year Old. Okay, we get home at 4:30 and we are in bed by 9:30. That's five hours and two of us working in parallel, yet invariably one or more items on the list do not get completed.
Grandiose renovation plans: build an outdoor kitchen. All the associated tasks have been on paper for over a month now, but we haven't even started a single one of them, let alone, complete one! Yesterday, the Urbane Lion said we are too busy socially on the weekends, which is why we haven't started yet. Um, I don't think going to the grocery store counts as a social event, and if it does we are more pathetic than I thought. Three weeks ago, we went to the cottage for one night. And two weeks before that, we had my birthday celebration with family. So, nope, we can't use a full social calendar as an excuse.
The only explanation I can come up with, is that we keep slipping through time/space continuum voids. Huge chunks of our life are going missing, and we are clearly not responsible. I would look up the theory of continuum voids, and exorcise our house of them, but it would have to go on the task list first, and likely never get completed.

Ugh... I have the same problem. I often lose HUGE GAPS of time... and I mean MONTHS!
My kids have learned to give me regular reminders of upcoming events because they have learned that I am not a linear being, and what they tell me on Monday will be completely lost by Wednsday.
Of course, I know where the majority of my time goes... I've already accumulated 30 work hours this week and still have two full shifts to go. Add to that fact that it takes me at least an hour driving time to get anywhere at all, and I think I lose quite a bit of time in Pixie Dust (my Jeep). When I get home from the long, hard work days, I crash... so another percentage of time is given to sleep (if you could call it that), and my mornings seem to be my only solid ground, when I'm doing my meditations via The Daily Dose.
I'm hoping that when I move, cut back driving time, change my work schedule, and get settled into a new "routine", time management won't be so much of an issue.
This concept of time... boggles the mind! *LOL*

Ah yes, single motherhood. I went to school full time with 3 little ones; talk about no time to breathe!
